================================================ There are a lot of things to consider: Pricing? Does your computer have enough memory to run the program efficiently? What do you expect from your software? Will you be creating your own embellishments? Layouts? Journaling? Photo editing? How will you organize your photos? How will you share them with friends and family? Plus many other options. I definitely recommend downloading a couple of trial versions from Corel and Adobe (which they make very easy) and do some tutorials to get the hang of it and see which one suits your needs. I also recommend doing a google search to see what external tutorials are available. A lot of people like to share their creations and teach others their tips and tricks. If you're just getting started you can use paint.net, which is a completely free service. When you're ready to upgrade, then try some free trials. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which program will work best for you, but I can share my experience. I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0, which I've had it for quite some time, so it's no longer available by itself, but you can get the upgraded version: Adobe Creative Suite. This one is a little pricey and has a pretty steep learning curve, but if you want to create your own embellishments, rather than purchasing them, or if you want to start your own digital scrapbooking business, then I would recommend CS3. I've also been playing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and it's pretty easy to use and has some great tools. I really enjoyed using PSE6 because it allowed me to focus on my layouts rather than creating my embellishments. So, if you're looking for a program that will allow you to spend more time creating your layouts, then I definitely recommend PSE 6.0. It also helps you organize your photos and share them online or in emails. ================================================Free Digi Scrapbooking is a place where you can find tutorials, tips & tricks, product reviews, inspiration, how-to guides and the latest news in digital scrapbooking.
