Creative Ways to Build Your Scrapbooking Client List
by Cindy Angiel
It doesn’t matter what type of business you have, you need to keep finding new clients if you want to stay in business. That's true for entrepreneurs working in the digital scrapbooking industry as well. Whether you work your digi-scrap business primarily online or offline, you still need to have customers buying your products and services in order to keep the money coming in.
Finding new clients for your digital scrapbooking business does not have to be difficult. The industry has alot of choices for digi-scrappers when it comes to where they should make their purchases. So doubt as a digi-scrap entrepreneur you want customers to spend their money with you.
With so many digi-scrap businesses now in the market place, how do you stand out from the crowd and attract those customers? Never forget the traditionally successful methods such as listbuilding with freebies, upfront content delivery, social networking and email campaigns. In addition to using the traditional methods of building your customer list, you may also need to think outside the box and get even more creative with your marketing efforts.
Here are Two Somewhat Untradional Methods to Consider Adding to Your Business Plan:
Craft Fairs - You can find craft fairs in your local area by reading the local paper, visiting the websites of local television and radio stations, and keeping an eye out for signs and posters on area bulletin boards. Use craft fair events to educate your market about your services and provide practical how-to tutorials about using your products. Provide them with disks of your work or products they can use also.
Home Parties - You may think that scrapbook consultants who sell "physical" scrapbook products for big companies are the only ones who can take advantage of the home party. But that's not true. With so many people now owning laptops it's ultra easy to create party plans for digi-scrapping too. Put on your thinking cap and you're sure to come up with some creative ways to make this proven business model work for you too. If you are a freelance scrapper you can also 'party on' with a mix of customers by showing them your package plans, offering discounts, selling smaller products such as framed gifts or greeting cards, etc.
Above are just a few ideas to get you thinking outside the box. By networking with peers and sharing marketing ideas you are sure to come up with plenty more ideas to try on for size. The Digital Scrapbook Designers Professionals Business Association is just the place to do a bit of brain storming with fellow digi-scrap professionals, and pick up more ideas for attracting customers for your business.
You can build your customer base by taking these two ideas and running with them. If you use these techniques along side the more traditional customer list building methods - your business will continue to grow.
